So I really need your opinion on this! Please please please no tanning lectures aboskin analyzer onlineut the dangers! Nothing you can say will make me reconsider, I’m an adult and am aware and accepting of all the risks. So I have struggled with eczema for years. It’s horrible! I would break out in an itchy task, get frequent infections, and be on heavy antibiotics like every 2 months. When summer came, I started sunbathing (not only to get rid of the eczema but I also love the tan look, it’s gorgeous!) and the eczema was instantly gone. Now that winter is here, I can’t lay out. I have tried self-tanners to get the beautiful tan look but I seem to be allergic to the DHA in them and it makes me break out in eczema. It has to be the DHA cause I’ve tried several self-tanners who have that as the only common ingredient. And regular products like lotions and soaps don’t aggravate my eczema. I can’t get a spray tan cause it contains DHA. So I have 2 options here and I’d like to know your opinion on each:

1) I can go to a tanning bed. I have never been in one and the thought scares me. Not because of long-term consequences but because of short-term consequences. Like for example, I am very claustrophobic and have severe anxiety. I think if I go in the tanning bed, I might start freaking out and panic! Also the thought of getting overheated scares me. They do have fans though and you aren’t in there long. This would get rid of my eczema (just like the sun did) and give me the beautiful glow. My doctor has even recommended I go to the tanning bed in moderation for acne and eczema. I think it’s also not knowing what to expect and I think it will be worse than what it is.

2) I found a self-tanner that is DHA free. It is called St. Tropez Wash off Dark Instant Glow Body. I could try it and at least see how it works. My concern is I feel it’s a waste of money just like the other self-tanners I’ve tried that did not work (although I could always return it). It says on the reviews the color isn’t very dark with just one layer. Would it be darker with several layers? I am trying to obtain the deep dark tan. And also, if I put it on my face, it might cause acne. And if I wear makeup to make my face look tan (which I have tried) that causes acne. And my main concern: It doesn’t have the effect that the sun does on helping eczema so my eczema would probably come back as soon as my natural tan completely fades.

What would you do? Maybe try #2 and see how that works and then try 1? What are your thoughts?

Maikang You might try the self tanner. I’ve never been one for booths. Besides the nearest one is 15 miles away. I just start sunbathing in the back yard in April when it starts to warm up. By June I have a good base tan, I migrate down to the dock (we live by a lake). I spend a lot of my days off down there.skin analyzer
