I am 11 weeks now and have little white dots (not noticeable unless up close) on my face. I was using normal shower gel to shower and wash my face with before I was pregnant and that was fine. Now people are giving me all different advice saying I musnt wash my face with that anymore, but I must wash with cream, like moisturizer. This is probably why my skin is like it is now….also, can I still use shower gel to wash my body with? I have heard that it is not good to use when bathing coz it can go inside of you, but can I rather use it in the shower then?

Please help me if you have any advice or share your skin stories…lol

Some poeple that have been pregnant before tend to give you a lot of advice but not bearing in mind that every pregnancy is different!

Maikang I just looked this up.

I have been pregnant 8 times (have 5 children, 2 m/c and am 5 weeks pregnant now).

And I have broken out in acne all over my skin – I have NEVER had this happen in any other pregnancy.

I found that mostly they say to wash with either a sensitive facial wash (I made my husband go and buy me the Dior one even though it cost almost $100!) and to only use a light moisturser without too much scenting.

And to wash your face a new times a day and not wear makeup over area.

I look like a teenager! Although I can’t remember getting acne like this when I was a teenager just one or two at a time.

Maikang I was looking forward to a healthy pregnancy glow like when I was pregnent with my son but this time round I look like a spotty teenager, boo 🙁 !!!
And to top it all I have dry skin patches as well so I was unsure whether I should moisturise or not! I was advised to use a gentle face wash, as your hormones can make skin quite sensitive and harsh washes could cause more problems, and to moisturise the dry parts only rather than my whole face. I also avoid wearing make up when I can.
I’ve not heard rumours of shower gels etc but I don’t use anything in my bath at the mo because of really dry itchy skin and I only use baby soap, or fragrance free products to wash to avoid irritation!skin analyzer

Maikang OH my gosh, when i first got pregnant, with this pregnancy, I had the worst acne for about 4-5 months. The only thing that helped was drinknig a ton, and i mean, a TON of water every day, and washing my face with IVORY. Now, my skin is great! it even has that glow that i was wonding what the hell that was in the beginning. I really say try the ivory, and use Proactive lotion to mosturise your face. My face was so bad it hurt, and those things are the only things that helped. Plus i hot packed it every day for at least 30 mins to an hour.skin analyzer

Maikang maybe you could use a scrub on your face, i have had the worst acne since been preg and it drives me insane and I use a exfoliant, it will smooth your skin, and no shower gel or product doesnt go inside of you, its all closed up in there so its perfectly safe to have a bath and use bath gels bath crystals whatever you want, but i wouldnt use the stuff you wash your body with on your face anyway even if your not pregnant, your face has a different ph level than the skin on your body so you need something milder, same goes for moisturiser dont use the same that you use on your body, get a different that is meant for your face.skin analyzer

Maikang Me too!! I’m 10 weeks and my skin and hair has been a nightmare since I got pregnant. And I usually have perfect skin and very not oily hair. Just don’t over clean. Hopefully it will clear up for both of us!!skin analyzer
