I was just going on to a site about skin diseases and then this Security Threat Analysis came up out of now where and it told me I had 20 new very serious viruses. I wasn’t thinking straight and was panicking and so I clicked “Start Protection”. My anti virus blocked it then I realized it might have been a scam. Right now my anti virus is doing a full scan. Was that a genuine threat?

Maikang • Download and install Malwarebytes’ Anti-malware.
• Restart your computer and press “F8” repeatedly before you see the Windows logo. This will bring you to the Windows Advanced Options Menu.
• Scroll down the menu and select “Safe Mode” to log into Windows Safe Mode.
• Launch your antivirus program. Perform a full system scan and delete all malicious files.
• Launch Malwarebytes’ anti-malware and click the “Perform quick scan” radio button. Click “Scan.” Malwarebytes will scan the system for malicious malware.
• Click “OK” when the scan is complete, then click “Show scan results.” Place a check on all the detected malware and click “Remove selected.” Malwarebyte’s will remove all detected malware.

Maikang It was a fake alert, you do not have 20 new viruses, you should scan with Malwarebytes after your anti-virus has finished, then keep it as a backup to your main anti-virusskin analyzer

Maikang Nope, it was a pop-up. If you had gone through with it, they would have tried to make you buy an anti-virus program to get rid of those “viruses” that it “found”. Worst case scenario, it would actually install malware on your computer.skin analyzer
