Answer:
Maikang Human skin color can range from almost black (due to very high concentrations of the dark brown pigment melanin) to nearly colorless (appearing reddish white due to the blood vessels under the skin) in different people.
Skin color is determined by the amount and type of MELANIN, the pigment in the skin.
Variation in skin color is largely due to genetics. As a general pattern people with ancestors from tropical regions (hence greater sunlight exposure) have darker skin than people with ancestors from subtropical regions.
Melanin comes in two types: pheomelanin (red) and eumelanin (very dark brown). Both amount and type are determined by four to six genes which operate under incomplete dominance. One copy of each of those genes is inherited from each parent. Each gene comes in several alleles, resulting in the great variety of different skin tones.
I basically cut it down for you, but you should check out the link below!!!skin analyzer
Maikang What makes up our skin color?
-Our skin color is the result of a pigment called Melanin. More melanin=darker skin
Why do humans have varied skin color?
-Ages of being exposed to the sun in certain areas on the world have created genetic tendencies and ways to cope with weather and sun light. Hot climates thus have darker skin tones, to protect the skin from burning. While people in colder climates will have lighter skin tones.skin analyzer
Maikang Because of adaption. Ever notice that people with darker skin tones come from hotter, sunnier places? It’s because darker skin absorbs the sun, rather than getting burnt, like white skin does. That’s why people from cooler places have lighter skin tones.skin analyzer
Maikang As an environmental adaptation, people who live closest to the equator have developed stronger sun defenses in their skin with an increased melanin production.skin analyzer
Maikang I really want to know the answer too but as a question to the other question – Does this ever change over time because I know someone who lives in Florida who is really pale and burns easily
hope you find a good answer [=skin analyzer
