My cat had a small rash develop on the front of her ankles at about 8 months old. This was after she had had all her rabies and etc shots were given a few months prior. To make a long story short. Took her to several vets including a dermatologist and after a year of antibiotics her skin ruptured head to toe in lesions except her back and tummy. She is an oily cat. She never smelled. They are red scabs that can ooze clear. The vets found no sign of fungus, yeast or even bacteria except what should be normal for a cat (meaning here and there but nothing that should cause this mess). The antibiotics did sorta clear it up but a year long of strong meds and lotions had me worried and when she went off her body erupted in yeast and she couldn’t move from the pain of itching. She healed from the yeast onslaught and is now a very ugly scabby cat. I even had her thyroid checked even though the vet didn’t want to and she came up mid normal.

I’ve washed her with zymox antifungal soap, anti bacterial soap, selsun blue soap. No one else has it in my house. She was cultured for ringworm (which my other cat later got and it looks nothing like what she has and it cured in a reasonable time).

She has been on very spendy foods. I believe we weskin analyzer reviewre spending $200 a month on food for her. Non gluten, non corn etc etc.

I’ve fed her yogurt and probiotics and vitamins…

She looks awful. She is a hyper thin cat with large eyes but her thyroid was normal. She has been this way now for 3 years and I stopped sleeping with her because she is just too bloody and scabby. I don’ necessarily notice her even itching though she must be.

Has anyone come across some miracle cure for this condition? I just want her to be happy.

Maikang When my kids were small and had a rash which Sudocream wouldnt shift, my health visitor told me to use either Drapolene or better still Metanium which any chemist will sell. The best thing to help is to try and let the skin breathe – so lay baby on a towel for an hour or so with no nappy and let the air get to the bum xxxxskin analyzer
